I Shot 75!
Thursday, July 28, 2005The golf went Ok. Basically about what I expected.
Par for the course is 72 on 18 holes. That would put my score at 3 over par.
Problem is we only played 9. Well, really we played 13 since we did the "twilight" gold where you pay for 9, but keep going until you can't see your ball.
Yeah. 75 on 9 holes. In case you're wondering that would be a big fatty 38 over par.
On the four additional holes I did a little better, getting two 7s and a 5 and a no score on the last one since I lost my last ball.
Here's my score card for the first 9:
My highlight of the day was hole 3. Notice the 3 in that spot and the three in the "Par" area? Yup, I got one par! Yay for me! Pay not attention to the 10+'s... those are the holes where I had to cut it off at 10 but would have had more... Focus on the par... :O)
I seriously need to hit the driving range. I have probably the worlds worst slice. Not only does the ball come off the club face already going right, it makes about a 45 degree turn in flight as well. It's like Caddyshack, I damn near have to point backwards to get my ball to go down the fairway. That, and I had a big problem with topping the ball so I have to figure that out.
Oh well, it was fun. I'll get better with some practice again.
In other news I was supposed to hang out the Kickball Girl tonight, but she TMed me this morning saying she was sick and weak. Oh well.

Becki - Do you drink during minigolf? :O) If you do watch out for the windmill, they get vicious!
S.C. - I may as well be considered a beginner, I really have nio skills left and I'm serious, taht slice is something to laugh at.

Anisa - Umm no, UNDER par is good, a littel over par is typical, My score is baaaad. hehe.

Diana - you would make a hot dance line member :O) par is the average, what, if you're somewhat good, you should get for the hole. I'm liking paramedic a good deal more as well. There seems to be a much better chemistry. But either way I'm not rushing into anything.

I usually shoot somewhere in the mid-to-upper 90's on 18 holes.
When I drink more than about 6 or 7, I shoot mid-to-upper 90's on 9 holes. -

I have never been good at golf, so I gave up long ago. I don't think all the practice in the world would help, either. I guess I'm lucky that it's not a sport any of my friends here play or I'd be stuck being the caddy :)

Carrie, your last comment brings to mind something I've been wondering about since I started reading this blog...
Most of the women I know say they're not interested in hearing men brag about their sexual exploits. Men who do so are crude, bragging pigs, not worthy of dating women. So why is it that the vast majority of the people who read -- or at least post -- on this blog are women?
Is it that the women I know are prudes?? (I doubt that... prudes couldn't tolerate my definitely UN-PC behavior)
Are the women who make such a show of gagging when men talk about their sexploits just full of shit and secretly enjoy hearing about the conquests??(Pretty likely, methinks.)
Are all of the women on this forum just a little out of the mainstream?? (Another grand possibility.)
Do you consider this blog something akin to an ongoing, interactive romance novel?? (Hmmmmm, I may be on to something here) -

I personally am married, so I like to live vicariously through daters. I love the thrill of the chase, the capture, then bag. but not enough to jeopardize my own wonderful life.
I also like to pass judgement on people, (guilty pleasue, sorry) so it's fun when I hear about a girl who gives it up early... WHORE!! TROLLOP!!! HOOCHIE!!!

I am personally FASCINATED with the human race and the whole courtship endeavor. romance novels... I wretch. but I dont like the whole penthouse forumn, either. I know what sex is, thank you very much... so I dont need personal re-caps. just the high levels, thanks.
but the path from the first eye contact to the sweaty betty and then the break-ups or marriage... I find it amazingly interesting.

Sunny - I tried, but to no avail.
Cap B - yeah, that whole beer thing gets in the way. I hit about 120 balls at the range this weekend, hopefully taht will pay off.
